DrugFreeSG Fund

The DrugFreeSG (DFSG) Fund is a grant for supporting ground-up, not-for-profit initiatives which contribute to the vision of a drug-free Singapore with projects that can:

• Raise awareness of the harms of drugs and Preventive Drug Education (PDE)

• Build resilience and develop anti-drug advocacy capabilities in individuals and communities

• Ignite conversations about staying drug-free

CNB administers the DFSG Fund as Secretariat of the National Council Against Drug Abuse on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Focus Areas

Parents - Partner with us to empower parents with knowledge and strategies to have early, effective conversations with their children about drug abuse. If you work with parent groups or families, let's create programmes that equip parents to raise drug-free advocates.

Youths - Mobilise youth networks to inspire peers in building drug-free communities. If you run youth groups or peer mentorship programs, develop campaigns with us that encourage young people to support one another.

Families - Strengthen family bonds to promote open conversations about drugs. If you focus on family dynamics, collaborate with us on initiatives that foster connection and discernment within families.

We also welcome innovative projects that raise awareness of PDE and reach other audiences, such as community-based outreach or at-risk individuals.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a registered organisation or Singaporean / Permanent Resident (PR) individuals

• Not-for-profit project

• Project is executed in Singapore and contributes to the vision of a drug-free Singapore

• Target audience / beneficiaries are Singapore citizens, PRs and / or communities based in Singapore

What Projects Can Be Supported?

When assessing applications, we consider:

• Project objectives – Does the project generate positive publicity for the drug-free message? Will it increase understanding of key anti-drug messages or help develop anti-drug advocacy?

• Target audience and reach – Is the project designed for a specific audience (youths, parents/families, community groups)? What is the scale of outreach and how will the project amplify its impact?

• Implementation plan – Does the project have a clear and feasible execution plan with measurable outcomes?

Some examples of projects that we support are:

• Dialogue sessions and workshops that promote awareness and equip participants with knowledge about drug prevention

• Community events and activities that engage target audiences in meaningful conversations about drug issues

• Educational resources and campaigns that promote understanding of PDE and the impacts of drug abuse

• Research projects that generate insights into effective PDE approaches

Funding Matters

• Successful applicants can receive reimbursement of up to 100% of project costs.

• There should be no double-funding of same cost items across different funding sources.

• Funds will be reimbursed after we receive your supporting documents and project evaluation report, which are due within two months after the end of your project.

Key Deliverables for Grant Reimbursement

• Full attainment of the mutually agreed upon Key Performance Targets and Indicators (KPIs)

• Post-project report with supporting documents* (e.g., receipts, invoices, event photos, media performance statistics) for performance assessment

*Grantees will need to provide alternative targets and/or justifications for any unavailable documentation.

Please note that disbursements are based on actual expenditure and achievement of KPIs, and proration will be applied in the case of partial attainment of KPIs. Hence, we recommend setting realistic and achievable targets.
